The Cost of Living

Eko is recovering from his close encounter with death when he is confronted by his brother Yemi telling him that it is time for him to confess his sins. Sayid and Charlie are shocked to find the hut that Eko was resting in has caught fire. Sayid attempts to put it out as Charlie pulls Eko out of the fire. Once the has been extinguished they find that Eko is no longer there.

After glancing at some mysterious x-rays, Jack realised that they are Ben's and that he has a spinal tumor. He quizzes Ben about his symptoms but Ben persists that he doesn't know what he's talking about. Juliette brings in a video for Jack to watch, which turns out to be a secret message from Juliette asking jack to operate on Ben and deliberately kill him.

Eko follows the vision of his brother into the jungle which later turns out to be the mysterious black smoke we have seen in past episodes. The smoke hurls Eko through the jungle and kills him.
