Exposé

Nikki is running through the jungle, she frantically tries to bury an unknown object. Sawyer and Hurley are playing a game of table tennis when they see Nikki stumble out of the jungle. She collapses in front of them desperately trying to speak before she stops moving completely. Hurley announces that she is dead. Members of the camp are trying to figure out what could have happened, Charlie notices that she has dirt under her fingernails. The prospect of it being the others is mentioned, Sun retells the story of when they abducted her from camp. Charlie and Sawyer look uncomfortably at each other. Hurley states that he thinks her last words were "Paulo lies". They go into the jungle to find Paulo. Paulo is found lying on the jungle floor in a similar position to Nikki. Jin wonders whether this is the work of the 'monster'.

The flash back begins with Nikki appearing on stage at a strip club, she begins to dance before leaving to follow some men into an office, she is the shot. A voice yells "Cut" and we see that Nikki is an actress in a show called Exposé, shot in Sydney. She is romantically linked to the older director. She and the director are having breakfast served up by his new chef Paulo when he dies at the table. Paulo and Nikki grab a key round his neck that opens a safe containing diamonds.

Many other flash backs show Nikki and Paulo after the crash trying to find the diamonds around the island. Paulo discovers the diamonds but does not tell Nikki about this. One flash back involves Dr Artz showing her a spider that can paralyse anyone it bites.

Desmond tells Hurley that he saw Nikki arguing with Sawyer the morning before she died. When accused he tells them that she wanted a gun and he would not give one to her. He reveals that when they found Paulo's body he noticed a freshly dug hole in which he found diamonds buried.

We flash back to earlier that day and Nikki and Paulo walking together in the jungle. She reveals that she knows that he has the diamonds and to give them to her. When he denies this she takes a jar containing a spider out of her bag and throws it at him. The spider will paralyse Paulo for eight hours and even a doctor would find it difficult to tell that he was still alive. Nikki finds the diamonds on Paulo just as she too is bitten by a spider. Frantically she runs away and tries to bury the diamonds before collapsing in front of Hurley and Sawyer. Her last word is "Paralysed".

The camp are about to bury Nikki and Paulo. As they start to fill their grave Nikki's eyes open to see them being buried alive.
