One of Us

Juliette, Jack, Kate and Sayid begin their journey back to camp. Sayid demands Juliette tell him exactly who the 'Others' are. She tells Sayid that if she were to tell him, he would kill her. Sayid asks what she thinks he'll do to her if she doesn't. Jack breaks the discussion up telling Sayid that Juliette is under his protection.

A flash back shows Juliette and her sister Rachel in a car approaching the entrance to Mittelos Bioscience. She is greeted by Richard Alpert (Seen in 'Not in Portland') and told that her sister can't come any further. They say their goodbyes while Juliette promises to be back in time for the birth of Rachel's child.

At the camp Charlie tends to a distressed baby Aaron while Claire sleeps. She soon wakes claiming to not feel well. Charlie agrees to take Aaron while Claire rests. Everyone is shocked to see Jack walking out of the jungle followed by Kate and Sayid. The fanfare is interrupted by Sawyer demanding to know why Juliette is with them. Jack tells everyone that she was left behind by the others and to trust him.

Juliette is with Ethan signing papers when Richard arrives with a drink. He tells her that this is Orange juice laced with tranquiliser for the journey. Juliette tells him that she is having second thoughts and wants to know exactly where they are going. Richard refuses to tell her but adds that she will see things no one has ever seen before if she agrees to go. Juliette gulps the drink down and quickly loses consciousness. She awakes strapped to a bed in the submarine. Ethan unties her and announces that they are there. She climbs out of the submarine and is greeted by Ben who welcomes her to the island.

Jack continues to convince the camp that Juliette can be trusted. During the debate Claire collapses and blood appears around her mouth. Jack rushes to help her. Juliette asks Kate to get Jack. When Kate questions why she tells her that she can help Claire because she caused her condition.

Surgery is taking place in one of the hatches, the pregnant patient dies. Ethan and Goodwin (infiltrated the tail survivor's camp and was eventually killed by Ana Lucia) console her Juliette claiming that it was not her fault. Later Ben approaches Juliette as she sits by the shore, Juliette tells him that she can't do anymore work on the island as the pregnant women keep dying. Ben tells her that she can't leave. When Juliette begins to argue he informs her that her sister will not be giving birth as she will be dead from her returning cancer. However if Juliette stays he promises her that Rachel's cancer will be cured.

Jack listens to Juliette explain how all the pregnant women on the island eventually died except Claire who lived because of a serum that Ethan injected into her. Claire requires more of this serum to live. She travels to caves to find Ethan's hidden stash of serum and returns to save Claire.

The final flashback sees Juliette with Ben going over 'the plan'. Juliette reiterates that she is to handcuff herself to Kate and pretend that she has been left behind by the others. Ben adds that they have planted an illness in Claire that will trigger by the time Juliette arrives at camp, he tells her where the serum will be hidden and that saving Claire will win people's trust. Ben then gives her a gas mask and says "See you in a week".
