In this series Lorraine Kelly examines heart-breaking tales of families who have experienced the trauma of a missing child. Astonishingly over 100,000 children and young people disappear in Britain each year, in fact children account for over two-thirds of all the missing persons cases reported.

Thankfully many of these children are found within 48 hours, but there are still many children out there who have been missing for months, or even years, and their families and friends are desperate to know where they are.

‘Missing Children: Lorraine Kelly Investigates” looks beyond the shocking statistics; revealing the human stories behind some of these cases. Mixing interviews with filmed reconstructions we will find out more about the children themselves, meet the parents who are still searching for them and examine the circumstances behind their disappearance. The child may be a suspected teenage runaway; a younger boy or girl feared abducted, or a minor who has just disappeared without a trace.

Talking to Lorraine Kelly in the studio are the inspirational parents and siblings who have lived this nightmare, who have been to the brink and back and who, despite their very obvious agony, think it’s important to tell their tale.
