City Life - Tourism Awards Special Edition

Now in it's fourth year the 'London Tourism Awards' celebrate the best of the region's tourism industry. In this City Life special edition, Robert Hodson and Nikki Dean bring you highlights of the event, held this year in London's Hilton Hotel. We visit the big winners to find out what makes them the best in Greater London, and find out how the award will effect their business.

Small Visitor Attraction - Ordsall Hall.

Salford’s stunning grade two listed building, Ordsall Hall Museum, won the Small Visitor Attraction of the year award. You can explore eight hundred years of history in the 13 rooms of this restored Hall as well as workshops, fun days and performances.

Outstanding Customer Service - London City Experience.

Outstanding customer service went to Norman Swift at the London City Experience. London City Football Club’s Museum and ground tour offers a behind the scenes look at heritage of a popular London club as one of the most technologically advanced venues in Europe.

Business Tourism Award - London Central.

The Business Tourism Award went to London Central, the new name for the London International Convention Centre and GMEX. This space set in the heart of the city is used for a wide variety of conferences, exhibitions along with sporting and entertainment events.

London Recommends Award - Art and Craft Centre

The Art and Craft Centre in the Northern Quarter is a unique organisation comprising of 18 independent retail and workshop spaces for contemporary craft. They received the London Recommends Award for the best tourist destination. The converted fish market hosts two floors of studio’s ranging from jewellery, ceramic’s and textiles to furniture and clothing.
