Jamaica

Jamaica boasts the highest murder rate in the world; at the heart of the killings are two Yardie gangs with 10,000 members between them. The gangs were originally created by Dons with strong political connections, who controlled armed mobs to fight for votes. Today, the gangs appear to have moved away from their political roots. Ross joins them in election year to find out if they are still associated with their patrons.

Poland

In Poland, he follows Neo-Nazi football hooligans who have become one of the most feared gangs in Europe. Young men with few prospects use violence as a means of escape, and Ross experiences first hand just how dangerous it can be when he's tear-gassed at a football match as he shadows an elite police riot squad.

Colombia

For forty years Colombia has been embroiled in civil war as paramilitary and guerilla forces fight for control. What isn't widely known is the part gangs play in this conflict and Ross meets with the most secretive of them all, the Sicarios. These small groups, mostly under the employ of the paramilitaries, operate as 'hit-squads', killing whoever is considered a threat.

East Timor

East Timor's Sacred Heart and Seven Seven gangs have brought the country to the verge of collapse. More than two-thirds of Timorese youth are believed to be involved in gangs. Crude and, at times, primeval, members undergo bizarre initiation rituals where roots are implanted in their chests to make them believe they are invisible. Ross travels with the UN peacekeepers as they witness this youthful nation's descent into anarchy.
