Channel L's local content team produce lifestyle, ents sport and music programes: essentially the non-news output. The team perform the following roles:
Organises and arranges the filming and editing schedule. Decides content for programmes including guests, locations and other logistics. Liaises with guests and ensures programmes make it to transmission.
Responsible for the look of a programme including lighting, style, camera angles, graphics and sound. The director works closely with the production team.
Normally works under the director to cut the pictures and sound together. Channel L editing is done on the non-linear Avid system.
In studio the camera op uses large pedastal based cameras and works with headphone and instruction from the studio director. In ENG mode the camera op will work to a shot list or with a director on location.
General duties include calling guests, setting up shoots, logging tapes, digitising material for editors. Generally assisting the producer or director with their duties
On larger scale productions the AP will take on producer responsibilities such as filming certain packages or features. Usually has experience as an editor or camera operator.
